This 1996-founded Californian a cappella group has performed songs in many different genres, including jazz, rock, and pop. Since their modest beginnings, the group has expanded rapidly to become UC San Diego's top co-ed a cappella group, and they look forward to continuing to offer an exceptional a cappella experience for many years to come.
The ensemble sings "a cappella," or just using their own voices and no other instruments. A Cappella Group California is a diverse microcosm of the University of California student body, with some members contributing years of vocal training and others being led just by natural talent. They are all linked by a love of singing.
Recent accomplishments include hosting yearly Fall and Spring Ballroom events, competing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella up to the semi-final round, and having members share the stage with well-known artists like Taylor Swift, Far East Movement, and Imogen Heap.
