Tent rental in Dubai typically runs from AED 4,500 for a small 6x6m frame tent to AED 60,000 and up for a large clear-span marquee with flooring, aircon and lighting for 300+ guests. Price depends on span size, whether you need cooling, flooring, sidewalls and structural certification, and how fast you need it. Dubai Municipality requires a structural permit for any temporary tent over a certain footprint, and outdoor events also need a DET entertainment permit if there is music or performance. Tent types and which one fits your event
Most quotes we send start with the wrong tent being asked for, so it's worth five minutes to get this right before you call anyone. There are six shapes in regular use for event tent rental in Dubai, and each solves a different problem.
Clear span marquee. No internal poles, full usable floor space underneath. This is the default for weddings, galas and exhibitions where you need clean sightlines to a stage or dance floor. Spans from 10m up to 40m wide, joined in bays to reach almost any length.
Pagoda tent. A peaked, tent-like roof on each module, usually 3x3m to 10x10m, used singly for VIP arrival points and majlis seating, or joined in a row for a market or activation. Reads more upmarket than a plain frame tent and is a common choice at Atlantis The Palm and Madinat Jumeirah beachfront events.
A-frame or pole tent. The traditional peaked marquee shape, needs guy ropes and ground anchors so it works on grass or sand, not on hard paving unless weighted. Cheaper than clear span at the same footprint but has centre poles that eat into your layout.
Transparent or glass marquee. Clear PVC roof and walls, used for evening weddings and product launches where guests want the Dubai skyline or a view of the sea visible from inside. Costs more than a solid roof marquee of the same size and needs extra cooling because of solar gain.
Arabian and majlis tents. Fabric-lined tents with traditional patterned interiors, floor seating or low majlis furniture, used heavily for National Day, weddings with a heritage theme, and Ramadan iftar and suhoor tents. Usually rented with the interior styling included rather than as a bare structure.
Gazebo. Small format, 3x3m to 6x6m, used for entrance canopies, registration desks, prayer areas or a single food station rather than as the main event space.
The mistake that costs the most
Booking a tent size based on the guest count alone, without accounting for the dance floor, stage, buffet line and bar. A tent rated for 200 seated guests banquet style will comfortably hold about 130 once you add a stage and a 6x6m dance floor. Send your full run of show, not just the headcount, when you ask for a quote.
Marquee rental Dubai: sizes and guest capacity
Capacity depends on layout, not just square metres. Banquet rounds of 10 need roughly 1.2 to 1.4 sqm per guest including aisle space. Theatre style seating fits more per sqm, cocktail style fits even more. The table below is banquet style, which is the tightest common layout.

Add roughly 15 to 20 percent to the footprint if you want a stage, dance floor and buffet inside the same tent rather than in a separate structure. For villa weddings and private garden parties, we usually recommend leaving that margin in the site measurement before confirming a size, because most gardens have a tree, a pool edge or a gate that changes what actually fits.

These are current rates for standard packages, all in AED, and they cover delivery, setup, technician on site and collection. Actual quotes vary by season, venue access, ground surface and how much notice you give, so treat this as a planning range rather than a fixed number.

Weekend dates, Thursday and Friday in particular, and public holidays such as National Day and Eid weekends carry a surcharge, generally 10 to 25 percent above weekday pricing, because crews and stock are stretched across multiple sites at once. Ramadan iftar tents follow a similar pattern with demand concentrated in the same four to five weeks. Ask for the exact figure against your date rather than assuming the low end of any range applies.
What is included and what costs extra
A tent quote that only shows the structure price is incomplete. Ask what's in the number before you compare two suppliers, because the base tent is often the smallest line item.
- Usually included: delivery, install, on site technician for the event duration, dismantle and collection, basic frame lighting, ground protection matting for grass sites.
- Usually a separate line: flooring upgrade beyond basic deck (wood, carpet, raised platform), air conditioning or evaporative cooling units, sidewalls beyond one or two panels, festoon or uplighting beyond the basic package, generator and fuel if the venue has no power access, security deposit against wind or fire damage.
- Often forgotten until the site visit: loading bay booking fees at hotel venues, parking permits for the delivery truck, out of hours labour if setup has to happen overnight, and a standby crew fee if the event runs past the agreed collection time.
Most suppliers, us included, take a refundable damage deposit on larger structures, typically 15 to 25 percent of the tent value, returned within a few working days after collection and inspection. Get this figure and the return timeline in writing before you sign.
If you're also renting seating, tables or lounge furniture for inside the tent, it's worth pricing that alongside the structure rather than as an afterthought. Permits: Dubai Municipality, DET and DCT in Abu Dhabi
Two separate approvals can apply to an outdoor tented event in Dubai, and people often only budget for one. Confirm both before you fix a date.
Dubai Municipality structural permit. Any temporary tent above a certain footprint, generally anything larger than a small garden gazebo, needs structural approval showing the tent meets wind loading and fire safety requirements. Your tent supplier should hold structural certification for their stock and submit the drawings on your behalf. Confirm this is included in the quote, because getting it done separately after the fact causes real delays.
DET entertainment permit. If the event includes music, a DJ, live performers or any paid entertainment, Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (formerly DTCM) requires an event permit separate from the tent structure permit. This applies whether the event is in a tent, a ballroom or a garden. Corporate events, weddings with a live band, and public activations all typically need one. Abu Dhabi. The equivalent process runs through the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi), with its own permit and its own timeline, generally requiring more notice than Dubai for venues like Yas Island or Emirates Palace grounds.
Hotel venues. Ballroom lawns and beachfront tent sites at hotels such as Atlantis The Palm or Address Downtown often carry their own internal structural sign off in addition to the Municipality permit, plus a loading bay booking window that has to be confirmed well ahead of delivery day. Ask the venue events team for their tent and rigging policy at the same time you confirm your date.
Season, wind rating and cooling
Outdoor tented events in Dubai run heaviest from October through April, when evening temperatures make an uncovered or lightly cooled tent comfortable without a heavy air conditioning load. Book early for this window, November through February in particular gets fully committed at the larger tent rental companies weeks ahead of peak wedding and corporate gala season.
From May through September, any daytime or early evening tent needs mechanical cooling, not just fans, and the cooling unit and ducting can add a meaningful line to the quote, sometimes 15 to 30 percent on top of the base tent price depending on size. Structures also need a valid wind rating certificate for the specific tent model being used, since summer shamal winds and sudden gusts are a real factor in structural approval, not a formality.
Sidewalls matter more than people expect. Clear walls keep a view but do little against wind or dust, solid fabric walls block both but change the look of the space, and a mix of the two along different sides of the same tent is common at beachfront and desert venues where wind direction is predictable.
Packages for weddings, National Day, Ramadan and corporate events
The tent itself is rarely the only booking on the day. Bundling it with the right add ons tends to be cheaper and definitely simpler to manage than running three vendors.
- Weddings: clear span or transparent marquee, draping and chandeliers, dance floor, stage for a live band. We regularly pair this with acts from our live music and band roster and a belly dancer or folk troupe for the reception.
- National Day and Ramadan: Arabian or majlis tent, low seating, lanterns and traditional fabric lining, often booked in a run of dates across a compound or school for iftar tents through the month.

Lead time for a standard tent booking is 3 to 7 days once size and site are confirmed. Anything over 500 guests, requiring a site survey, structural drawings, or a multi day install for a festival scale structure needs 2 to 4 weeks minimum, longer across peak wedding season and around National Day.
