How much does it cost to hire an event manager in Dubai?

Day-of coordination typically runs AED 3,000 to 8,000. Partial planning runs AED 8,000 to 25,000. Full planning and management starts around AED 25,000 or is charged as 10 to 20 percent of total event budget. Corporate event managers are usually quoted per project, from roughly AED 15,000 upward depending on scale. Always confirm the exact figure against your date, guest count and venue, since peak season and major trade events push prices higher.

Do I need an event manager or can the venue coordinator handle everything?

Venue coordinators manage the venue's own operations: room setup, in-house catering, security and building rules. They do not typically source external vendors, manage your overall budget, or handle entertainment contracts. For a simple event entirely within one venue's package, a venue coordinator may be enough. For anything with outside vendors, a separate event manager is almost always worth the fee.

What is the difference between an event planner and an event manager?

In practice in Dubai the terms overlap, but event planner more often refers to pre-event work: concept, vendor sourcing, budget design. Event manager more often includes on-site execution and staffing on the day itself. Many companies and freelancers do both under one title, so ask directly what is included rather than relying on the job title alone.

Can an entertainment agency also manage my whole event?

Some entertainment agencies, including full-service ones, offer event management as an add-on, particularly when the event is built primarily around a performance or show concept. It is worth asking directly rather than assuming, since not every agency staffs for full event logistics such as catering coordination or venue permits.

How far in advance should I hire an event manager in Dubai?

For weddings and large galas, three to six months ahead gives the best vendor availability, especially during peak season from October to March. For corporate events, six to eight weeks is often workable if the venue is already secured. Entertainment acts in particular should be confirmed early, since popular performers and specialty acts book out fast during high season.

Do event management companies in Dubai need a license?

Yes. Legitimate event management companies operating in Dubai hold a trade license through a free zone authority or the Department of Economy and Tourism. Ask any provider to confirm their license before paying a deposit. This is a thirty-second request and a reputable company will not hesitate to provide it.

Is it cheaper to hire a freelance event manager instead of an agency?

Usually yes on the base fee, since freelancers carry less overhead. The trade-off is less backup if they are unavailable, sick or double-booked, and often a smaller vendor network to draw on. For smaller private events a freelancer is often the better value. For large or high-stakes events, the agency's backup staffing tends to justify the higher fee.
