How much do event organizing services cost in Dubai?

Costs vary widely by event size and production level. A small private party typically runs AED 15,000 to 45,000, a wedding or corporate gala can run AED 80,000 to 250,000 or more, and large brand activations often start from AED 150,000. Planning fees are usually either a flat fee or 10 to 20 percent of total spend. Always confirm the fee structure in writing before booking.

How far in advance should I book an event organizer in Dubai?

Book 8 to 12 weeks ahead for peak season, which runs roughly October through April, when venues and entertainment acts fill up fastest. Summer months have more availability. Permit applications, entertainment contracts and catering should be locked 6 to 8 weeks out, with final details confirmed in the last week before the event.

What is the difference between an event organizer and an entertainment agency?

An event organizer manages the full event: venue, catering, permits, production and logistics. An entertainment agency focuses specifically on booking and managing performers, from musicians to dancers to specialty acts. Some companies do both. If you only need entertainment booked and coordinated around an existing event plan, an entertainment agency alone may be enough.

Do I need a permit to hold an event in Dubai?

It depends on the venue and event type. Private events inside a licensed hotel or venue are usually covered by that venue's existing license. Outdoor events, public spaces, amplified sound after certain hours, or alcohol service outside the venue's standard license often need separate approval. Requirements differ between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, so confirm directly with your venue or organizer.

Can one company handle both the event planning and the entertainment?

Yes, some full-service event organizing companies in Dubai handle entertainment booking as part of the overall plan, while others focus purely on entertainment and leave logistics to a separate planner or the venue. Ask any agency directly what is included in their scope before assuming entertainment is covered.

What should be in a written run of show?

A run of show should list every event segment minute by minute, including arrival, speeches, meal service, entertainment slots and closing, with the vendor or team responsible for each segment named. It should be signed off by the client, venue and key vendors including entertainment at least a week before the event, not assumed verbally.

Is event organizing in Abu Dhabi different from Dubai?

The core process is similar, sourcing a venue, managing vendors, handling permits and running the day, but specific licensing authorities, permit timelines and some venue rules differ between the two emirates. If your event is in Abu Dhabi, confirm permit and licensing requirements with that venue directly rather than assuming Dubai rules apply.
