What does an event organisation company in Dubai charge?

Most charge either a flat management fee or a percentage of total event spend, commonly in the 10 to 20 percent range, though this varies by company size and event scope. Get the fee model in writing before signing, and ask whether it is applied on top of supplier costs or already built into them.

Is it cheaper to book entertainment directly instead of through an event organisation company?

Usually yes, because a direct booking with an entertainment agency avoids the commission layer added when an organiser subcontracts the act. You also get direct communication about set times and requirements. Full-service organisers still add value for events with many moving parts, but the entertainment line specifically is often cheaper booked directly.

How far in advance should I book an event organisation company in Dubai?

For full-service events, four to eight weeks minimum is workable, though popular venues and headline entertainment can require two to three months during peak season (October to April). Corporate events tied to a fixed date, like a product launch, often need even more lead time for permits and venue holds.

Do I need a permit to hold an event in Dubai?

It depends on the venue and format. Hotel ballroom events are usually covered under the venue's own licence, while public, ticketed or outdoor events typically need a separate approval, generally through Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism or the equivalent authority in Abu Dhabi. Confirm the specific requirement with the venue or the relevant authority before committing to a date.

What is the difference between an event organisation company and an entertainment agency?

An event organisation company manages the full production, including venue, décor, catering, AV and logistics, usually for a management fee. An entertainment agency specialises only in booking and managing performers, with direct contracts covering set length, fee and cancellation terms. Many event organisation companies subcontract entertainment to agencies rather than managing performers in-house.

Can I hire entertainment without going through a full event organisation company?

Yes. If your venue and catering are already arranged, you can book entertainment directly through an agency. This is common for clients who have a venue's in-house team handling logistics and just need the performance side confirmed with a direct contract and technical rider.

What should be included in an entertainment contract for a Dubai event?

At minimum it should name the specific performer or act, the exact set length and timing, the fee and payment schedule, the cancellation policy, and the backup arrangement if the performer cannot attend. If an event organisation company cannot produce this document from the actual supplier, the entertainment is not formally confirmed.
