He calls himself a "oeeco-preneur," focused on business ventures that are both profitable and sustainable. O'Leary attended the University of Waterloo and graduated with a degree in psychology and environmental studies in 1977. In 1986, Kevin co-founded SoftKey Software, the first software business to use consumer products marketing strategies in the software sector. As the price of personal computers dropped and millions of North American families started to purchase software for pleasure and education, SoftKey experienced rapid growth. By 1998, SoftKey has purchased many of its competitors and become the world leader in the development of educational, reference and home productivity software and the world”™s second-largest consumer software company. The Learning Company, which later changed its name, was then purchased by The Mattel Toy Company for $4.2 Billion in 1999. He joined Storage Now, a renowned builder of climate-controlled storage facilities, as a co-investor and director in 2003. Kevin also joined Stream Global Services Inc. as a founding SPAC investor and director in July 2007 and currently serves as the chairman of O'Shares ETF Investments and Beanstox. Kevin has stakes in more than 30 private venture firms across a wide range of industries. He is a co-host for the Discovery Channel's Project Earth series, a contributor to CNBC, ABC News, and Good Morning America, and a member of the 120-year-old Hamilton Trust in Boston.
