Packages by wedding type
A wedding entertainment company in Dubai that only sells one format is guessing. The four wedding types below need different casts, and pricing shifts with them.
- Arabic or Khaleeji wedding. Separate ladies' and men's halls usually means two casts running at the same time: a zaffa for the groom's entrance to the men's hall, a female-led band or DJ plus belly dancer for the ladies' hall, and a live oud or qanun player during the majlis. Budget AED 20,000 to 55,000 for entertainment across both halls, before AV and staging.
- Indian or Pakistani wedding. Sangeet, mehndi and baraat are usually three separate entertainment briefs across two or three nights: a dhol player and Bollywood troupe for baraat and sangeet, a DJ or live band for the reception, sometimes a fusion act blending Bollywood with Arabic sets. A three-function package typically lands between AED 25,000 and 70,000 depending on troupe size and number of nights.
- Western or expat wedding. Ceremony music (string duo, harpist or acoustic guitarist), a band or DJ for the reception, and a first dance cue that has to be rehearsed with the band beforehand. Beach and hotel garden ceremonies at venues like Bab Al Shams or JA Palm add wind and sound restrictions that we plan around. Budget AED 15,000 to 40,000 for ceremony through late reception.
- Small villa or intimate wedding. Under 60 guests, usually a single act carrying the whole evening: a duo or trio, or a DJ with an MC. AED 6,000 to 18,000 covers most of these end to end.

Past the standard band and DJ brief, a handful of add-ons book repeatedly because they photograph well and give guests something to talk about.
- LED drummers or an LED dance troupe for the entrance or a surprise mid-reception moment, strong for evening receptions at Atlantis The Palm or Madinat Jumeirah where the lighting rig is already dark enough to land the effect.
- A live sand artist or speed painter during dinner, producing a keepsake piece of the couple within 8 to 12 minutes.
- Fire performers for outdoor, open air receptions only, this needs sign off from venue security and sometimes civil defence depending on the site, so flag it early rather than at the final walkthrough.
- A closing drone show for beachfront or desert venues with airspace clearance, this needs weeks of lead time, not days, because of GCAA approvals.
- A surprise flash mob with the couple's own bridal party, choreographed in two or three rehearsals in the two weeks before the wedding.

Most Dubai wedding receptions run four to six hours once dinner starts. A run sheet we'd typically build for a hotel ballroom wedding looks like this.

The gaps matter as much as the acts. We build in changeover time between the band's dinner set and the party set, and confirm sound curfew with the venue before we confirm anything with the act.
Venues, permits and sound curfews
We've run wedding entertainment at Atlantis The Palm, Madinat Jumeirah, Burj Al Arab, Address hotels, Bab Al Shams, JA Palm, and Emirates Palace and Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi. Each venue has its own house rules on sound levels, load-in times and whether outside entertainment needs to be pre-approved by banquets, so we submit the act list and any AV requirements to the venue coordinator once the date is locked, not the week before.
Entertainment performed inside a licensed hotel is usually covered by the hotel's own entertainment licence, but certain acts such as fire performance, drone shows, or anything outdoors and open to non-ticketed public still need a specific DET (formerly DTCM) permit in Dubai or a DCT permit in Abu Dhabi. We handle this paperwork as part of the booking rather than leaving it to the couple, since permit lead time can run one to three weeks depending on the act. Sound curfews are the other thing that catches couples out. Most Dubai hotel ballrooms cut amplified music between 11:00 pm and midnight, beach and outdoor venues sometimes earlier. Confirm the exact cutoff with the venue in writing before you build the run sheet, not after the band is booked.
What changes the price
Four things move the quote more than anything else: the number of halls (single mixed hall versus separate ladies' and men's majlis, which effectively doubles the cast), the number of functions (a single reception versus sangeet, mehndi and baraat across two or three nights), the season (October through April is peak, with better acts booked out 4 to 8 weeks ahead, while summer has more availability and softer pricing), and whether the couple wants ladies-only performers, which narrows the pool of available dancers and musicians and can add a premium.
The costly mistake
Booking the band or DJ before confirming the venue's sound curfew and load-in window. We've had bands turn up with a 90 minute setup only to find the ballroom hands over at 6:30 pm sharp with sound checks banned after guest arrival at 7. Confirm curfew, load-in time and whether a separate soundcheck slot exists before you pay a deposit, not after.
